Nokia
Lumia 930 has already made it to a few European countries and now it’s
Germany’s turn to make it available to Windows Phone fans. In the
following days, the smartphone will start shipping in many more European
territories, but there’s one retailer in Germany that offers the Lumia
930 this week.
Online retailer Noovi is now selling the Nokia Lumia 930 for €500 ($680) off-contract and customers can choose from four color options: black, white, green, and orange.
Any of these versions can be ordered now, and Noovi claims it will start shipping them this week. Keep in mind that Noovi also sells the Nokia Lumia 930 on contract, so potential customers could get it cheaper with agreements from O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile, or E-Plus, depending on their preference.
The best smartphone that comes with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system right out of the box, Nokia Lumia 930 paves the way to the new lineup of handsets soon to be announced by Microsoft.
Until Microsoft starts rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 update for all compatible devices, Nokia Lumia 930 remains one of the few smartphones that run the still unavailable version of the platform.
Obviously, there are still a lot of early Windows Phone 8.1 adopters who decided to install the Developer Preview released by Microsoft back in April, but this is not the final version of the operating system.
Even though this is just a speculation, we can’t help but wonder why Microsoft hasn’t release Windows Phone 8.1 yet, though we have expected it since late June.
Perhaps the company is enjoying good sales numbers for its Windows Phone 8.1 handsets that are now rolling out globally and wants to keep the momentum by not releasing the update yet.
Anyway, with or without Windows Phone 8.1, Nokia Lumia 930 is still one of the most powerful smartphones launched by Nokia and Microsoft.
The handset is equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, and 2GB of RAM.
The device lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion, but it does pack 32GB of internal memory, and users will also receive lots of free cloud storage via Microsoft’s OneDrive service.
Another strong point of the Lumia 930 would be the hyper-vibrant 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. The phone also boasts an amazing 20-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, dual LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording.
